Acquisition of Flirt.com
Easydate plc is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Flirt.com domain from US company Belamo Corp ('Belamo') for USD 1.25million (£0.8million) cash, and at the same time has been granted a perpetual royalty free license to several Flirt trademarks by Belamo.
Flirt.com is a fun dating site that has been operated by Easydate under a white label agreement from Belamo since August 2010 and has grown from nil revenue in August 2010 to a revenue of £250,000 per month in November 2010.
Commenting on the acquisition, Bill Dobbie, Easydate's CEO, said:
"Flirt.com has performed exceptionally well since we started operating the site in the summer. Given this strong performance over a fairly short time period, we felt that acquiring total ownership of the domain was an important step that would contribute towards Easydate's continued growth. This acquisition secures ownership of a strong domain and dating site which sits alongside Cupid.com and Benaughty.com as one of our fastest growing dating sites."
