BAFTA nomination

Zinc Media Group plc, the TV and multimedia content producer, is pleased to announce that one of its TV subsidiaries, Blakeway North, has received a BAFTA nomination in the factual category of the 2017 Children's Awards for a documentary that it produced, entitled 'Born to Vlog', which was made for the CBBC factual strand 'My Life'. This is the sixth time that a Zinc Media company has been recognised by BAFTA in the last three years.

The film tells the story of 12-year old Nikki Lilly, who loves makeup, clothes, baking cakes and social media. Nikki isn't your average 12 year old. Having been diagnosed at six years old with a life threatening medical condition, Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), Nikki has to fly to the United States every other month for complex surgery. She has her own YouTube channel, using vlogging as a way to connect with the world, and she has attracted over 17 million views to her page.

This film, 'Born to Vlog' is an insight into Nikki's life over six months in 2016, mixing observational filming with her own video diaries and social media vlogs.
