ViaLogy SPM powers Axia NetMedia Air Quality Monitoring Managed Service Prototype for the Alberta SuperNet

Managed Services approach to broad area emissions tracking and compliance for public sector and commercial enterprises.

PASADENAMay 29, 2008 - ViaLogy PLC (LSE: VIYannounces it has signed a contract to deploy SPM™ (Sensor Policy Manager™) as a prototype managed services delivery platform on the Alberta SuperNet with Axia NetMedia Corporation. This first joint offering would deliver an environmental air quality monitoring and compliance tracking proof of concept targeted at government and industry customersAxia and ViaLogy will initially roll out this service at two remote points of presence (POPs) in Alberta. Upon successful demonstration, Axia could scale the pilot to over 100 additional POPs and provide real-time emissions assessment, surveillance and alert information in support of various air quality monitoring, compliance and reporting initiatives

By offering this information in a managed services environment, Axia could significantly lower capital investment and operational costs and provide reliable information for its Supernet customer base. The model has the potential to be offered by Axia to other jurisdictions where it operates Next Generation Networks. Recently, there have been a host of regulations for ambient air quality standards, emissions standards and monitoring methods in Alberta. In fact, nationwide, nearly half of Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution comes from large industrial facilities in sectors like oil and gas, electricity generation and chemicals. This managed services offering would provide broad area ambient air quality visibility to regulators and optimize response and remediation measures.

Axia (www.axia.complans, designs, develops and operates ultra-high-performance, Real Broadband™ Open Access Networks that provide uncompromised connectivity in and between both large and small markets worldwide. As a core technology platform for a managed services solution, ViaLogy will provide the sensor integration engine for the platform. ViaLogy's SPM™ software enables disparate sensors in very large enterprise networks to process and report only key events of interest to security personnel. The ViaLogy technology is sensor agnostic and considerably enhances the performance and strength of all integrated legacy and IP sensors, thus avoiding false alarms, missed events and optimizing use of limited bandwidth.

"We are pleased to be working with ViaLogy as part of this next generation managed services proof of concept." said Mark Blake, Axia's Vice President, Marketing and Business Development. "Our strategy here is to pull together various environmental sensor data to provide our customers with consistent, reliable air quality measurements in a managed services environment. SPM's ability to offer scaleable sensor-based services for safety, security, remote monitoring and business continuity is central to our service.

"Axia has chosen SPM™ to address a worldwide requirement from customers for improved and coordinated integrated sensor data in a managed services environment," said Robert W. Dean. President and CEO of ViaLogy, "We are proud to be chosen for the initial pilot and for potential future deployments worldwide. As Axia's partner, Vialogy expects to gain access to major sales opportunities globally.

"SPM™ is a comprehensive and flexible product that can be customized to suit individual customer needs because we recognize that there are a variety of situations to be dealt with. Some customers will want a turnkey networked system for monitoring a new building or campuswhile others will want the integration of their existing sensors and new sensor arrangements.

"The Axia-Vialogy solution will provide consistent, integrated and reliable environmental sensor data."
