UPDATE ON NEW BUSINESS ACTIVITIES
The Board of WTS plc announce their intentions to further develop and implement their global business strategy. Since the formation of WTS China in the middle of 2016, the main focus has been on the successful development of the business of distributing its heath food products in China. The Company has also communicated the second element of its plans to expand the international side of its business through partnership with established international product companies to distribute those products in China. Progress is being made on this and the strategy will evolve further into related health care services as well as products.
On the product side the Company has previously announced a memorandum of understating with Naturemed GmbH and is pleased to update that an agreement has now been reached in relation to the proposed commercialisation of its products in China. Naturemed GmbH is a company with limited liability established in September 2016 and managed by Director Dr. med. Dhalia-Rosa Smolczyk. Naturemed sells personal hygiene and dietary supplements manufactured from natural plant and animal origin in compliance with the provisions of the Medicines Act and the Pharmacy Act, in Germany and abroad.
WTS plc has entered into an arrangement with two other German companies related to NatureMed GmbH: Cordero GmbH & Co. KG and Humanio GmbH. Both of these companies are linked via their involvement in business activities associated with different stages within the supply chain of naturopathy using active ingredients and cell therapy.
Cordero GmbH & Co. KG is a company with limited liability, established in April 2013, headquartered in Bingen Germany and managed by Stephanie Dreyer. Cordero specialises in the production of lyophilisates and cell peptides from animal material as well as the acquisition and management of property.
Humanio GmbH is a company with limited liability established in April 2013 and represented by Managing Director Stephanie Dreyer. Humanio is involved in the operation of a day clinic for biological medicine, including the provision of accommodation and meals to patients. The Humanio institution is situated in a stately home in Bingen which incorporates a cell therapy clinic and also an analysis laboratory for the production of internationally sought-after cell preparations (for which the property and IP is owned by Cordero GmbH& Co. KG).
WTS plc has come to an arrangement with these companies to bring clients from China to the Humanio clinic, to assist in the Chinese food product registration for Naturemed capsules and supplements and consequently sell these Naturemed products in the Chinese market under the WTS brand.
WTS plc believes that through partnering with these companies, mutually beneficial collaborations can be achieved as aligned with the overarching vision of WTS plc as a 'gateway to China' by expanding its portfolio of foreign health companies.
The UK headquarters has signed a new five year lease for a permanent office establishment and will move its business office to these expanded premises during January 2018. Additionally, WTS plc is in discussions to house synergistic partner companies within this headquarter office in Amersham, London, to enable increased collaboration on joint projects which are currently being pursued (please refer to Announcements dated 03 April 2017 and 17 May 2017).
The Board of WTS plc is actively seeking strategic synergistic partners to diversify its income base and reduce its reliance on the WTS China and are pleased to provide this update.
