Waterman Group PLC23 September 2005 WATERMAN GROUP PLC ("WATERMAN" OR THE GROUP) TRADING UPDATE Waterman issues the following update ahead of the Group's preliminary resultsfor the year ended 30 June 2005, which are scheduled to be announced on 7October 2005. Whilst noting that the audit is ongoing and has not yet been finalised, Watermannow expects to report profits before tax significantly ahead of marketexpectations for the year ended 30 June 2005. This is due to a number of factorsincluding: projects releasing profits earlier than expected, the improvedperformance of the Group's regional and international companies and a reductionin overhead costs in London. At this stage, it is difficult to anticipate whether the improvement in marginsis sustainable in the longer term.
