OBTALA RESOURCES PLC ("Obtala" or the "Company")

Directorate Changes 

Obtala Resources Plc has appointed Nicholas Clarke CEng, ACSM (aged 56) to the Board as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Nicholas Clarke is a highly experienced Chartered Engineer with extensive senior corporate experience

on the AIM Market ("AIM") and Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") listed minerals companies. He was

previously the managing director of Oriel Resources Plc from conception in 2004 to the ultimate sale to

Mechel OAO ( a Russian resource company listed on the NYSE) for a total consideration of US$1.5 billion as

at March 2008. Currently, he is a consultant to Orsu Metals Corp. and Non-Executive Director to both Caledon

Resources Plc and Sunkar Resources Plc, companies that are trading on AIM

Earlier in his career he was instrumental in his role as Managing Director of Wardell Armstrong International Ltd ("WAI") and developing WAI from a small consultancy into a senior minerals focused consultancy during the 1990's. Also, Nick has been involved in a number of equity raisings both on AIM and TSX. . Further details relating to his experience is detailed in the Appendix. 

Mr Jim Bain has stepped down from the Board of Obtala as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. We thank him for his contribution to the Company and wish him every success for the future.

Frank Scolaro, Executive Chairman for Obtala, stated "Obtala Resources will undoubtedly reap the rewards from Nick's involvement on the Board. His reputation, experience and knowledge blend perfectly with other Board members to take our Company forward on a professional and constructive basis."
