Appointment of Non-Executive Director
The Board of Vela Technologies (AIM: VELA) announces the appointment of Antony Laiker as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Antony Laiker served as an Executive Director of the Company from 2013 to 2020. Currently, in addition to roles as an investor and director / advisor to a number of early stage companies, he is a stockbroker at First Equity Limited.
The Company intends to strengthen the Board further through the appointment of an additional independent Non-Executive Director to the Board in due course.
Brent Fitzpatrick, Non-Executive Chairman of Vela, commented:
"We welcome Antony back to the board in a non-executive capacity. Antony is a significant shareholder in Vela and has extensive experience of the small-cap marketplace. We look forward to drawing upon this experience again as the Company seeks to build and manage its investment portfolio. His knowledge of Vela's investments and the background to the Company will be important as we seek to create shareholder value."

Antony Laiker has a total beneficial interest in 977,799,500 ordinary shares of 0.01 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing 6.02 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital. Included within the total beneficial interest stated above are 420,000,000 Ordinary Shares held by BIXX Tech Limited, a company of which Antony Laiker is a director and significant shareholder.
