Proposal to appoint Ernst & Young LLP as auditor from financial year 2017
Vedanta Resource Plc ("Vedanta") announces that following a competitive tender process it proposes to appoint Ernst & Young LLP as auditor of Vedanta for the year ending March 31, 2017. This follows the mandatory tendering requirements in the UK. The appointment will be subject to shareholder approval at the Vedanta 2016 Annual General Meeting.
Vedanta's current auditor, Deloitte LLP, will undertake the audit for the year ending 31 March 2016 having been reappointed at the 2015 Annual General Meeting. Deloitte LLP has been Vedanta's auditor since its listing in 2003.
