Victrex appoints Dr Ros Rivaz as Senior Independent Director

Victrex plc, an innovative world leader in high performance polymer solutions, is pleased to announce that Dr Ros Rivaz has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director and the Senior Independent Director of the Board, effective 1 May 2020. The appointment follows Pamela Kirby, the previous Senior Independent Director, not seeking re-election at the 2020 AGM, after nine years on the Board. Ros will join all Board committees, with the appointment following a thorough search process.

Ros has a strong track record as both a Non-Executive and Executive Director. She is currently a Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director at Computacenter plc, where she chairs the Remuneration Committee; a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Convatec Group plc, and a Non-Executive Director at the Ministry of Defence (Defence, Equipment & Support). Previous Non-Executive roles include Boparan Holdings, RPC Group and Rexam plc.

Her Executive career spans nearly 30 years, including at Exxon Chemical Corporation, ICI, Diageo, Premier Foods, Smith & Nephew and Tate & Lyle. A Chemistry graduate and honorary Doctor from Southampton University, her last major Executive role was as Chief Operating Officer for Smith & Nephew plc.
