GreenTech Appoints Chief Geologist
Alien Metals Limited (AIM: UFO), a minerals exploration and development company, notes that GreenTech Metals Limited (ASX: GRE) ("GreenTech") has announced the appointment of Ms Rachel Backus as Chief Geologist, effective 27 July 2026.
The appointment forms part of GreenTech's continued expansion of its in-house technical team as it prepares to commence a major drilling programme at the Munni Munni PGE-Cu-Ni Project ("Munni Munni") and the Whundo Cu-Zn-Au Project ("Whundo") in the West Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Ms Backus brings more than 18 years' exploration experience across gold and multi-commodity systems in Western Australia and northern Australia. Her technical expertise spans Au, Ni, Cu, Mn, Fe and PGE-related systems, including exploration targeting, drill programme design and resource growth.
Previous senior roles include Fortescue Metals Group, Western Areas, Prodigy Gold, Consolidated Minerals, Orion Gold, Tanami Gold and Saturn Metals. Ms Backus joins GreenTech from Leeuwin Metals Ltd, where she most recently served as Exploration Manager.
GreenTech advised that Ms Backus brings a combination of technical and statutory experience, with expertise directly relevant to the Company's Munni Munni PGE-Cu-Ni and Whundo Cu-Zn-Au Projects. Her experience includes generative exploration targeting, drill programme design and execution, and resource growth across a range of mineral systems.
Ms Backus holds a Master of Geology (Hons) from the University of Leicester, a Graduate Certificate in Geostatistics and a Certificate in Mining Studies, and is a member of both the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG).
Alien holds a 30% interest, free carried to the completion of a bankable feasibility study at Munni Munni, and holds 37.9 million shares in GreenTech, representing an approximate 10% interest in the issued share capital of GreenTech.

Alien additionally retains exposure to two advanced precious and base metal assets in the Pilbara. At Munni Munni, one of Australia's largest PGM systems hosting a historic resource of 2.2Moz PGM (palladium, platinum, and rhodium) and gold, the Company has completed its partial asset sale and joint venture transaction with GreenTech Metals Ltd under which Alien retains a 30% interest, free carried to completion of a bankable feasibility study at Munni Munni, and additionally holds 37.9 million shares in GreenTech Metals Ltd. Alien (via a wholly owned subsidiary) also retains a 30% interest in the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project through a joint venture with Crest, which encompasses the Elizabeth Hill Mining Lease M47/342, which has produced some of Australia's highest-grade silver ore during the late 1990s. Alien retains a 30% interest in the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project and additionally holds 30.5 million shares in West Coast Silver Limited, providing both direct project exposure and equity participation in ongoing development.
