London: 8 August 2011 - Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("TSG" or "the Company") (TSG.L) is pleased to report the start of the commissioning process of the Asacha gold plant. The site's power unit, consisting ofΒ 4 diesel generators with a total capacityΒ of 4 megawatts, was successfullyΒ launched,Β with the gold plant and other facilities being switchedΒ to the permanent power supply.
Final testing of the mills, which is being supervised by the manufacturer, is nearly complete. Other mechanical equipment has been checked. Hydraulic tests of the plant equipment and piping are expected to be finished within 5-6 days.Β After that, tests of the plant equipment with waste rock and low grade ore will be undertaken.
The works at the underground mine continue as planned. In June and July 671 metres and 6,445 m3 of mine development were completed. The ore stockpile ready for processing now amounts to more than 73,000Β tonnes with an average grade of about 9 g/t.
The Company confirms that it currently remains on track for the start of gold production later this month.
