OAO TMK06 November 2007 Moscow, November 06, 2007 PRESS RELEASE TMK Starts Commercial Production of High Performance Pipes for the Astrakhan GasCondensate Field TMK, one of the world's largest oil and gas pipe producers and the market leaderof the Russian pipe industry, today announces that it has started production ofspecial corrosion-resistant seamless line pipes used for the transportation ofgas extracted from wells operating in aggressive environments. This new pipe range was especially developed by TMK's R&D centre for theAstrakhan gas condensate field, which has a complex geological structure andcontains high pressure formations saturated with corrosive and toxic agents.TMK's Sinarsky Pipe Plant has already produced a batch of seamless line pipescapable of withstanding the impact of the field's destructive substances. The pipes passed all bench and field tests, evidencing that TMK'scorrosion-resistant seamless line pipes can be used for the transportation ofoil and gas with high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide.These new TMK pipes meet current Gazprom specifications and will provide an alternative to imported pipes. "Production of pipes designed for gas-condensate wells with high concentrationsof hydrogen sulfide is new and very promising for OIE. These new products willallow us to meet the demand for high performance pipes from Gazprom and otheroil and gas companies operating in various hydrocarbon fields", commented TMK'sCEO, Konstantin Semerikov.
