CHANGES TO THE BOARD
The MISSION Group plc (AIM: TMG), the alternative group for ambitious brands, today announces that Peter Fitzwilliam has informed the Board of his intention to step down as Chief Financial Officer to pursue Non-Executive opportunities. Giles Lee, currently Commercial Director of MISSION, will take over the role of CFO from April 2021.
Peter has been with MISSION for over ten years, supporting the Group through its refinancing in April 2010 before joining the Board in September 2010. He has been instrumental to MISSION's success during his tenure and will continue to work with the business in an advisory capacity.
Giles joined MISSION Agency Bray Leino in 2005 as Group Finance Director and was appointed to the MISSION Board in 2013, taking on the role of Group Commercial Director in 2018. Prior to joining Bray Leino Giles was divisional Finance Director at Merrydown plc where he played a key role in the financial restructure of the business and its subsequent acquisition.
The Group also today announces that Barry Cook has informed the board of his intention to retire to pursue his existing charitable and non-executive roles. Barry co-founded krow in 2005 which was acquired by MISSION in 2018 and was appointed to the Board in June 2019.
Commenting, David Morgan, Chairman of The MISSION Group plc, said: "I have nothing but admiration for the financial stewardship, expertise and input that Peter has brought to MISSION. It has been my privilege to work with him and on behalf of the Board I would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution. He leaves with our warmest of wishes.
"I am delighted that Giles Lee will take on the position of CFO. Giles's undoubted financial capability and expertise coupled with his deep understanding of MISSION and its sector made him the Board's natural choice to succeed Peter.
"I would also like to thank Barry Cook for his significant contribution to the Group both in an Executive capacity as co-founder of krow, but also as Board colleague. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
Peter Fitzwilliam said: "It has been a real pleasure to work alongside the inimitable David and the hugely talented and dedicated MISSION individuals for over a decade. I fully support the Group's vision and strategy for the future, and I look forward to continuing in an advisory capacity as James Clifton and the team continue to build on the exciting momentum achieved in recent years."
Giles Lee said: "MISSION has an exciting growth path ahead and we are building from strong foundations. I look forward to continuing the journey with the Board and management team as we make further progress against our strategic priorities, and I echo David Morgan and the Board in wishing my long-time colleague Peter the very best for the future."
