Transaction in Own Shares
Tate & Lyle PLC (the “Company”) announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 25 pence each through Jefferies International Limited:

| Highest purchase price paid per share: | 607.50p | ||
| Lowest purchase price paid per share: | 597.00p |
The Company intends to hold these shares in Treasury to satisfy awards made under performance share plans.
Following the above transaction, the Company holds 1,810,872 of its shares in Treasury and has 466,401,285 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). This number represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tate & Lyle PLC under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
