BrainJuicer GroupΒ PLC
("BrainJuicer" or "the Company")
BrainJuicerΒ furthers global expansion withΒ
AustralianΒ licenceΒ andΒ SwissΒ officeΒ opening
Β
Β
BrainJuicer GroupΒ PLC, (AIM: BJU), a leadingΒ international onlineΒ marketΒ research agency,Β today announces that it hasΒ furtheredΒ its globalΒ expansion strategyΒ byΒ establishingΒ a presenceΒ in both AustraliaΒ andΒ Switzerland,Β whereΒ a numberΒ of itsΒ existing and potential multinationalΒ clientsΒ have a regional head office. This expansion buildsΒ on theΒ Company'sΒ existing officesΒ in theΒ UK, USΒ andΒ theΒ Netherlands.Β Β
Australian licenceΒ agreementΒ
BrainJuicer has agreed to license its products to Slater Marketing Group Pty Ltd ("Slater"), a long-established market research firm based inΒ Melbourne. This firstΒ strategicΒ licensing deal for BrainJuicer has beenΒ drivenΒ by the importance ofΒ AustraliaΒ for the Company's multinational clients. TheΒ agreement providesΒ anΒ opportunityΒ toΒ generateΒ new revenuesΒ for BrainJuicerΒ in theΒ region, and there are a number ofΒ existingΒ clientsΒ thereΒ alreadyΒ benefiting fromΒ BrainJuicer's innovativeΒ products, including FostersΒ Group, Fonterra (one of theΒ largest dairy companies inΒ Australia), andΒ CampbellΒ Arnott's.Β
The licence agreementΒ allows Slater to sellΒ BrainJuicer'sΒ services inΒ AustraliaΒ andΒ New ZealandΒ on a profitΒ share arrangement, which will lead to the acquisition ofΒ SlaterΒ dependent on a series of financial targets. TheΒ Company has purchasedΒ 3.64%Β ofΒ SlaterΒ andΒ agreed toΒ purchaseΒ theΒ remainderΒ ofΒ theΒ business once pre-agreed financial targets have been met,Β for a totalΒ considerationΒ ofΒ AU$2.2 million. The staged structureΒ ofΒ the transactionΒ allowsΒ BrainJuicer to enter thisΒ newΒ marketΒ in a phased manner.
Swiss office opening
TheΒ Company also announces today that itΒ isΒ openingΒ anΒ officeΒ inΒ Switzerland,Β which isΒ a key strategicΒ marketΒ forΒ BrainJuicer'sΒ continuedΒ expansion.
BrainJuicer has appointed Mark Johnson as the country manager in order to build on the Company's existing client base in this territory. Mark has over 10 years' experience in consumer insight and market research, and with his strong track record of innovation he will be building a team to service Swiss-based clients. He has worked for research and innovation consultancies first in London, then Paris and most recently for Cereal Partners Worldwide in Lausanne (the joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills). By opening this office the Company will be in a position to tap into the significant number of multi-national companies which have their European head offices located there.
John Kearon,Β CEOΒ ofΒ BrainJuicer, commented: "We are delighted to announce the further expansion of the business,Β which reinforces BrainJuicer's strategy of broadening our geographical reachΒ by identifying regions in which ourΒ existing and potential clientsΒ have regional head offices, andΒ thereforeΒ aligning ourselves withΒ theseΒ large multinational companies. Slater is an ideal fit for BrainJuicer, both in terms of its ethos and its client base. TheΒ agreementΒ will haveΒ considerableΒ benefit for both parties, as BrainJuicer's innovative products will enhance Slater's current offering, and Slater will give BrainJuicer access to this new territory.
"The opening of the Swiss office marks a significant step in terms of our presence inΒ Europe. We have chosen a region in which we already have a number of clientsΒ andΒ whichΒ houses the EuropeanΒ head offices ofΒ many of the world's largest companies, includingΒ Nestle,Β General Mills, Proctor & Gamble, Roche and Philip Morris.Β Β Our physical presenceΒ thereΒ will give us greater ability to growΒ ourΒ client base, and we are delighted to have attracted someone of Mark'sΒ calibreΒ to establish this office;Β his strategic marketing approach will be of great benefit to the Company, and we look forward to his contribution to the ongoing innovation within BrainJuicer.
"The Board is excited about expandingΒ BrainJuicer's global operations. We look forward to updating the market on theΒ successful rollout of the licence agreement with Slater, as well as the anticipated growth of the Swiss office."
