DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING

Synthomer plc ("Synthomer" or "the Company") announces the following transaction in connection with the exercise of an option on 6 May 2014 under the Company's long term incentive plan by a person discharging managerial responsibilities:

· the exercise by Mr A M Whitfield, the Company's Group Chief Executive, of a zero cost option over 111,726 ordinary shares awarded to him in 2011 under the terms of 2002 Performance Share Plan.

Sufficient shares have been disposed of to satisfy the tax liability arising on exercise of the option calculated on the basis of the Company's closing share price of 258.1 pence on 2 May 2014 with the balance being retained by Mr Whitfield.

Following the above transaction Mr Whitfield's shareholding is 288,602 shares in the Company.

The issued share capital of the Company is 339,880,769 shares of 10p each.
