Severstal Board of Directors elects Chairman and Senior Independent Director
PAO Severstal (MICEX-RTS: CHMF; LSE: SVST), one of the world's leading steel and steel-related mining companies, today announces the election of Alexey Mordashov as Chairman of the Board of Severstal and Sakari Tamminen as Senior Independent Director of the Board and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board at the meeting of PAO Severstal's Board of Directors on 26 May 2015, following the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM") on 25 May 2015. This is in line with the Company's plans announced earlier on 27 April 2015.
Furthermore, Independent Director Alun Bowen was elected Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board and Independent Director, Philip Dayer was elected Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environmental Committee of the Board at the meeting of PAO Severstal's Board of Directors on 26 May 2015.
These appointments follow the retirements after the AGM on 25 May 2015 of Christopher Clark, Independent Non-Executive Chairman, Rolf Stomberg, Senior Independent Director, Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board and Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environmental Committee of the Board, and Martin Angle, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board. All of them have served on the Company's Board for almost nine years since Severstal's IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.
