Board changes
Stobart, the infrastructure and support services group, announces changes to its Board to address the opportunities within its growing Energy Division.
Ben Whawell, who has been the Group's Chief Financial Officer for nine years, will become Chief Executive Officer of Stobart's Energy division. This change of focus for Ben will provide the Energy Division with strong, experienced, dedicated leadership at a very important phase of its development. The Energy Division is expected to see strong growth over the next two years as existing fuel supply contracts come on stream to meet the demand from new biomass power generating plants as they are commissioned.
In order to be fully focussed on leading the Energy Division, Ben will step down from the Board on 8 July 2016. The recruitment of a new Chief Financial Officer for the Group is well advanced and Ben will continue to support the Board and the finance function throughout the transition. A further announcement will be made in due course.
