St. James's Place plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Dominic Burke as an Independent Non-executive Director with effect from 1 November 2022. Upon appointment, Dominic will be a member of the Group Risk Committee and Group Audit Committee. 

Dominic has significant experience in the financial sector and has spent his career in the insurance industry. In 2000, Dominic joined the Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc following the acquisition of the Burke Ford Group of companies that he had co-founded, and from 2005 he took on the role of Group chief executive until the company's 2019 sale to Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. Dominic held the position of vice chair of Marsh & McLennan until January 2022.

Since 2011 Dominic has been a non-executive director and the chair of Newbury Racecourse plc.

Dominic's appointment forms part of the Board's wider succession planning which aims to ensure an orderly transition over time. Simon Jeffreys and Roger Yates have informed the Board of their intention to retire from the Board at the conclusion of the 2023 Annual General Meeting ("AGM") at which point they will have served as Directors for nine years. In accordance with our succession plans, the Board announces its intention to appoint Dominic to the role of Senior Independent Director ("SID") following St. James's Place's AGM in May 2023 and at the same time, that Emma Griffin be appointed as Chair of the Group Remuneration Committee and John Hitchins be appointed as Chair of the Group Audit Committee. These proposed appointments are all subject to regulatory approval.

There is no other information regarding Dominic Burke's appointment to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
