NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD CHANGES AT ST. JAMES'S PLACE
Appointment of New independent Non-Executive Director
St. James's Place plc ("SJP"), the wealth management group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Iain Cornish as an independent non-executive Director, with effect from 1 October 2011*.
Biography:
Iain Cornish has a wealth of board and senior management experience and is currently Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Building Society. Since joining the Society in 1992, he held a number of senior management positions with the Society prior to being appointed Chief Executive in July 2003. Iain announced his resignation as Chief Executive of the Society in February 2011 and is due to step down by the end of the year. Iain also served as a member of the FSA Practitioner Panel from 2007 to 2011, becoming Chairman in 2009. Prior to joining the Society, he was a Senior Consultant in KPMG's Strategy Services Consultancy Practice, specialising in banking and finance sector consultancy projects.
SJP confirms that there are no details to be disclosed under Section 9.6.13R (2) - (6)
of the Listing Rules in relation to this appointment.
Retirement of Non-Executive Directors
SJP further announces the retirement of Michael Sorkin and Derek Netherton as non-executive Directors with effect from 31 December 2011. Mr Sorkin joined the Board in 2002 and Mr Netherton joined the Board in 1996.
