Following recent FSA clarification related to disclosure obligations in respect of the grant of security over shares by a director, West African Diamonds PLC ("the Company") announces that it has received notification that John Teeling, Chairman of the Company, has pledged 1,015,862 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the Company, representing approximately 1.75% of the Company's issued Shares as security against personal borrowings.
