ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO THE CHAIRS OF ITS BOARD COMMITTEES AND THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW SENIOR INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
Standard Chartered PLC today confirms that Maria Ramos has commenced her role as Group Chair, with José Viñals stepping down from the Board. Consequently, Maria has stepped down as Senior Independent Director and as a member of the Board Risk, Audit and Remuneration Committees and has been appointed as Chair of the Governance and Nomination Committee. These changes became effective immediately following today's Annual General Meeting.
The Company further announces that Phil Rivett, Independent Non-Executive Director, is appointed Chair of the Board Risk Committee, subject to regulatory approval. He has also been appointed Senior Independent Director and succeeds Maria in both roles.
Jackie Hunt, Independent Non-Executive Director has been appointed Chair of the Audit Committee, subject to regulatory approval.
Phil will assume the Chair of the Board Risk Committee on an interim basis immediately, ahead of receiving regulatory approval. In addition, he will remain Chair of the Audit Committee ahead of Jackie receiving regulatory approval to assume that role.
Jackie has also been appointed to the Governance and Nomination Committee effective from 8 May 2025.
