SciSys wins new Major Contract for UK Government Climate Change scheme

SciSys plc (AIM: SSY), the specialist supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a new contract with the Environment Agency for approximately £3.5 million, to build an IT solution to support the requirements of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Scheme.

The CRC scheme is part of the UK Government's initiative to tackle climate change using a new domestic 'cap and trade' approach to reduce energy usage from large organisations in the private and public sectors.

The development phase for the solution is expected to last for approximately 15 months, following which SciSys will provide ongoing support for up to 3.5 years.

Chairman Mike Love commented "SciSys is excited to be working on this important scheme which builds on the work it has been undertaking for the Environment Agency over several years in helping them develop new solutions to meet their Better Regulation objectives.

This contract is another good example of the increasing momentum at SciSys, and reinforces the Board's confidence in the Company's expected financial performance."
