 SciSys Media Division awarded first major call off contract of the Audio Editing & Playout framework agreement

SciSys plc (AIM : SSY), ('SciSys' or the 'Company') - the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the Media Broadcast (MBS), Space, Government & Defence, Environment and Applications Support sectors, has been awarded an initial call-off contract with the British Broadcasting Corporation to provide Audio Editing and Playout (AE&P) solutions for the West One Project (London) and Project North (Salford/Manchester). The value of the call-off contract is in the range of £4 to 5m professional services and software licenses over the course of three years.

This contract is the first major element of the related framework agreement which was signed in May 2009. It will cover the broadcaster's Audio & Music, National Radio News & World Service divisions. Under the framework agreement, MBS dira!® products are intended to be installed across all the customer's sites in order to refresh and partly replace existing technology by one single scalable, joined-up, pan-BBC solution that integrates with other systems to create a true multimedia production environment.

This new contract builds on the work MBS has been undertaking for the BBC over several years in the domain of integrated radio production & playout technology, and further strengthens the relationship between the two organisations for the mid-term future.
