Synexus Clinical Research PLC08 December 2005 Synexus Clinical Research plc ("Synexus") Forms Strategic Alliance with ICRI Research (P) Ltd. ("IRL") to establish India's first patient-recruitment Site Management Organisation (SMO) Synexus Clinical Research plc, the provider of clinical trials services to theglobal pharmaceutical industry, has entered into a strategic alliance with theIndian Clinical Research Institute, through the latter's Mumbai-based subsidiaryIRL. IRL-Synexus will establish a chain of fully owned GCP-compliant investigatorsites (IRL-Synexus Clinical Research Centres) across India, and the first hasnow been formally opened in Mumbai. All patients will be recruited throughinternationally accepted methods and the first patient is expected to berecruited to a trial in the first three months of 2006. Under the terms of the agreement, IRL's full-time GCP trained clinical researchteam are further trained by Synexus in UK, to ensure full implementation inIndia of Synexus' operating procedures. Synexus will continue to support andmonitor the centres in India to ensure compliance with these procedures. Synexus recently listed on AIM, with the declared strategy of replicating,through acquisitions and partnerships, its successful UK operations across arange of countries important to its clients for running clinical trials. TheIRL-Synexus alliance is the first of these strategic steps.
