Significant event to be reported:
· Conclusions contained in the Fiscal Inspection Report of ANAF - General Directorate for the Administration of Large Taxpayers dated December 18, 2017, relating to excise duty
On December 18, 2017, S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. received the fiscal inspection report of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), General Directorate for the Administration of Large Contributors which resulted from the completion of a fiscal inspection in connection with the excise duty.
In view of the legal provisions in force, the fiscal inspection team drew the conclusion that in case of the technological consumption of natural gas S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. used to maintain the capacity to produce, store, transmit and distribute natural gas, the excise duty has not become chargeable.
We specify that S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. has calculated, reported and paid excise duty in connection with the 2010-2016 technological consumption of RON 244 million which is outlined in ANAF's records as amounts to be recovered by the Company.
The explanatory notes accompanying the interim individual financial statements for the nine months and three months periods ended September 30, 2017 indicated this inspection as contingency; at that moment, the result was not impacted by a possible favorable outcome of the fiscal inspection.
In the upcoming period, S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. shall undertake the required steps to recover said amounts or to compensate with other fiscal obligations.
