Court Judgment Relating to Embezzlement by Officer or Employee
In accordance with disclosure regulations for capital markets, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("Company") today disclosed the judgment by the Supreme Court regarding the influence-peddling scandal involving the Company's executives (including former executives) indicted by the special prosecutor on February 28, 2017.
1. Relevant persons: Jae-yong Lee (Vice Chairman), Gee-sung Choi (former Vice Chairman), Choong-ki Chang (former President), Sang-jin Park (former President), Seong-soo Hwang (former Senior Vice President)
2. Judgments on matters related to embezzlement: Found guilty on some charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes.

1) The Supreme Court has overturned parts of a judgment by the High Court regarding charges of bribery and violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes, remanding the case to the High Court. 2) This disclosure is subject to change according to any subsequent judgment by the High Court.
