Director Purchase
Strategic Minerals plc (AIM: SML; USOTC: SMCDY) has been informed that Peter Wale, Director of the Company, acquired on 6 January 2017 a total of 2,500,000 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 0.48474 pence per share. Following this acquisition, Mr Wale becomes the Company's largest shareholder with a beneficial interest in 46,364,000 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 3.8% of the Company's issued share capital.
The notification below, made in accordance with the requirements of the EU Market Abuse Regulation, provides further detail on the acquisition of shares in the Company by a director.

Commenting, Strategic Mineral's Managing Director, John Peters, said:

This strategy continues to be focused on operations being undertaken from existing cash flows and expected value added exploration (Redmoor and CARE) being managed by the Company and its joint venture partners.
Options granted continue to be at a significant premium to the current share price but reflect both Management and the Board's confidence in the Company's future performance and the need for shareholders to substantially benefit before rewarding Management and the Board."
