Appointment of Finance Director

The 600 Group PLC, the diversified engineering group servicing international markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Carrick to the Board as Group Finance Director with immediate effect.

Martyn Wakeman, who has served as Finance Director for the past five years has decided to retire for personal reasons and agreed to continue to act on behalf of the Group with responsibility for corporate activities including acquisitions and disposals until he stands down in April 2012.

Neil Richard Carrick, aged 50, was previously Finance Director at Cosalt plc, the Yorkshire based and publicly listed Group involved in the marine and offshore sectors with activities in the UK and Europe.

Prior to joining Cosalt plc, Neil was Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary of William Cook Plc the fully listed Steel Casting Manufacturing Group with operations in the UK and USA.

David Norman, Chief Executive of The 600 Group, said:

I'm also pleased to report that the Group's order book remains strong with order intake higher than this time last year and that we are continuing to make good progress in Poland where we expect to see cost benefits and increased margins come through in the second half. "
