("Shanta Gold" or the "Company")

Blocklisting Application

Shanta Gold, the East African focused gold producing company, announces that an application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for a blocklisting of 5,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.01 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"). Admission of the Ordinary Shares under the blocklisting is expected to take place on 18 December 2014.

The Ordinary Shares will be issued from time to time, pursuant to the exercise of awards or options over Ordinary Shares and grants of Ordinary Shares under the Shanta Gold Limited Long Term Incentive Plan (the "LTIP"). Within the LTIP, there are approximately 7.1 million share options and salary sacrifice shares as well as 7.9 million retention LTIP shares, performance LTIP shares and bonus shares. The 15,000,000 shares granted under the LTIP amount to 4% of the shares currently in issue.

It is expected that the blocklisting will become effective on 18 December 2014 and the Ordinary Shares, when issued, will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing ordinary shares.
