Mr. Ho aged 50 is a fluent Mandarin and English speaker and brings over 20years' financial experience to the role. Much of his experience has been gainedproviding accounting, auditing, tax advisory and compliance services in bothHong Kong and North America. Mr. Ho qualified as a chartered accountant in Canada and became a member of theCanadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1988. He subsequently became afellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1996and was accepted as a Taxation Committee member in 2006. Mr. Ho has a focus ontaxation and in 2000 became a fellow member of the Taxation Institute of HongKong. Mr. Ho's career has included a period between 1995 and 1999 as a Senior TaxConsultant and Tax Manager with the global accountancy groupPricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to this he was based with the Taxation departmentof Revenue Canada, where he worked in various capacities, including, SeniorAppeals Officer, Senior Rulings Officer and Senior Business Auditor from 1989 to1995. Since January 2000, Mr. Ho has been working on an independent consultancy basis,as a sole proprietor of Alfred Ho & Co. (Certified Public Accountants). Mr. Hohas been practising on a whole range of services including accounting, auditing,taxation, secretarial and consultancy services. Alfred Ho & Co.'s taxationservices include tax planning, dealing with tax investigation by the InlandRevenue Department, opinion letters, and interpretations of tax laws. Mr. Ho's qualifications and linguistic skills have allowed him to take upvarious teaching positions. These include the Hong Kong Institute of CertifiedPublic Accountants, the Open University of Hong Kong, Leeds MetropolitanUniversity and Algonquin College in Canada.
