Transaction in own shares - Replacement
This announcement replaces the announcement released on 14 June 2023 under RNS number 5981C. The original announcement included an incorrect Treasury Share total and incorrect Shares in issue total. For clarification the total number of Treasury Shares held by the Company on 14 June 2023 was 57,563,205 and the total number of Shares in issue on 14 June 2023, to be used by shareholders as the denominator for their calculations was 1,710,675,793.
The Company announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of no par value in the capital of the Company (the "Shares"):
Date of purchase: 13 June 2023
Number of Shares purchased: 525,294 Shares
Highest price paid per Share: 79.80 pence
Lowest price paid per Share: 79.80 pence
Average price paid per Share: 79.80 pence
The Company intends to hold these Shares in Treasury. Including Shares which have been purchased but not yet settled, the Company holds 57,563,205 Shares in Treasury.
Following the above purchase, the total number of Shares in issue is 1,710,675,793 (excluding Shares held in Treasury). This number represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they can determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
