Driver Safety Solution (DSS) Rollout at Cloud Peak Energy (CPE)

Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE) announces today that Cloud Peak Energy is progressing the roll-out of the DSS at its Cordero Rojo Mine in Wyoming in the United States. Following a tender process Cloud Peak and Seeing Machines entered into an agreement in August 2011 for a 2 stage project to first trial 9 DSS units across 3 sites and secondly to rollout the DSS to the haul truck fleet (around 70 trucks) pending a successful trial.

CPE (NYSE:CLD) is one of the largest US coal producers and is headquartered in Wyoming with 3 sites, Antelope Mine and Cordero Rojo Mine in Wyoming and Spring Creek Mine in Montana. CPE is widely recognized for the performance of its safety and environmental programs.

Seeing Machines has received the purchase order for the first element of the broader rollout which includes 31 new DSS units and the upgrade of the 9 trial units to the new DSS version 3. This is worth approximately $370k over the next 3 months. The hardware platform of DSS version 3.0 is considerably more ruggedised than previous versions and has been developed based on results from extensive testing and field trials conducted in partnership with our customers including CPE during the past year.
