Robert Walters PLC, the leading international recruitment group, announces that Carol Hui's nine-year tenure expires on 29 January 2021 and that she has informed the Board of her intention to step down as Non-executive Chairman on that date.
As part of a planned succession process, the Board is pleased to announce that, after a comprehensive search, Ron Mobed has been appointed to succeed Carol. He will join the Robert Walters Group as Chairman Designate and as a member of the Board on 1 December 2020 and work closely with Carol to ensure a smooth hand over of responsibilities before formally taking on the Non-executive Chairman role on 29 January 2021.
Ron has a wide range of international experience having most recently held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Elsevier, the largest operating unit of RELX Group PLC (the global provider of information and analytics for professional and business customers). Prior to that, Ron spent 24 years at Schlumberger before joining IHS where he was President, Energy and COO and then Vice-Chairman in 2008. Ron is currently a Non-executive Director at AVEVA Group plc as well as Ordnance Survey and is a Supervisory Board Member at Fugro N.V.
Carol joined the Robert Walters Group Board in January 2012, became the Senior Independent Director in 2017 and has been Non-executive Chairman since March 2018. Over those nine years, Carol has played a hugely valuable role in helping the Group to develop into the one of the world's leading global specialist professional recruitment businesses.
