Riverstone Holdings LLC to Acquire Additional Interests in Castex Energy

HOUSTON, NEW YORK and LONDON - December 18, 2014 - Riverstone Holdings LLC ("Riverstone") today announced an incremental commitment and investment in Castex Energy of approximately $150 million, comprised of approximately $100 million from Riverstone Global Energy and Power Fund V ("Fund V") and approximately $50 million from Riverstone Energy Limited ("REL"). The investment makes Riverstone the largest investor in Castex Energy 2005, L.P. ("Castex 2005"). Castex 2005 has operations in South Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico Shelf, with more than 130 mmcfe/d of production, and is an affiliate of Castex Energy 2014, LLC, which was formed by Riverstone and Castex management in September 2014. Castex 2005 and Castex 2014 are both managed by Castex Energy, Inc., which has a 27 year operating history in exploration and development in South Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico Shelf.
