Roc Oil Company Limited04 September 2007 4 September 2007 ROC OIL COMPANY LIMITED ("ROC") STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE EXPLORATION UPDATE: DRILLING ACTIVITY, ONSHORE ANGOLA Roc Oil (Cabinda) Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of ROC and operator of theCabinda South Block, onshore Angola, provides the following drilling activityupdate: 1. Soja-1 The Simmons 80 rig commenced drilling the Soja-1 exploration well on 25 August,2007. The well's primary target, a post-salt structure, is expected to bepenetrated by the end of September 2007. Subject to drilling progress and theonset of the rainy season, the well is likely to be suspended for re-entry in 1H2008 in order to drill into a deeper pre-salt target. When the Simmons 80 rig demobilises from the Soja-1 location, it will move to ahigher and drier ground where it will drill the Milho-1 and Trigo-1 explorationwells, both of which have primary targets within the pre-salt and each of whichis expected to take approximately two months to drill. 2. Cevada-1 The ROC Explorer rig is being relocated from the Massambala discovery to drillthe Cevada-1 exploration well. It is expected that the well will start drillingduring the second half of September and take about one month to reach itspost-salt target. 3. Reporting Procedures Consistent with ROC's now established practice regarding its Angolan drillingactivity, the Company will only issue public statements at the end of eachdrilling operation after the relevant information has been collected andcarefully analysed.
