On 7 January 2010, the Company's Remuneration Committee (which is comprised wholly of non-executive directors) awarded options over 150,000 ordinary shares to the Consultant Director of Molecular Medicine, Professor Seppo YlΓ€-Herttuala, under the Company's Consultancy Share Option Plan (the "Consultancy Plan").

Options will not be exercisable until at least three years from the date of issue. Options awarded under the Consultancy Plan have an exercise price of 16.05Β pence per ordinary share. No consideration was paid for the grant of options.

Following this award, Professor YlΓ€-Herttuala will hold options over 1,049,999 ordinary shares.
