New Customer Order

PeerTV (AIM:PTV), a provider of technology solutions for the OTT (TV over the internet) market and PCB (printed circuit board) production solutions, is pleased to announce that it has received an order from a new customer, a leading national broadcaster.

The customer carried out extensive reviews and testing and has placed a framework order for 10,000 units for 2014 of which the first 1,000 is a firm order for immediate delivery with the balance subject to successful launching and take up of the product.

The set top box developed by PeerTV is an Android based unit which enables broadcast content to be distributed via the internet and downloaded directly onto the subscriber's existing TV screen. Recognising that broadcasting requirements and functionality will vary between competing broadcaster and Telcos, PeerTV's system has been designed to be adaptable to the specific requirements of the service provider.

PeerTV CEO Avi Vermus comments, "we are now successfully breaking into our target market. National broadcasters and Telcos are realising that OTT is an effective and profitable platform which allows them to reach out to a huge global audience who are hungry for OTT content. Our Android based eTV system provides a simple, cost effective and proven solution to the challenge of delivering TV and video content over the internet and is readily adaptable to suit local requirements."

PeerTV was one of the first companies in the market to launch an Android based set top box bringing together the advantages of the Android operating system, apps and a quick and smooth user experience to enable TV or web viewing via a single unit.

As previously announced, PeerTV has already completed successful field trials and is now actively pursuing commercial opportunities in both Europe and Latin America. The PeerTV package has been carefully designed to meet the unique needs of the OTT marketplace, delivering a flexible platform that can be customised both by the end user and by corporate buyers of the system. PeerTV products are expected to be bought by ISPs, ethnic TV service providers, content providers, cable operator, mobile operators, the hospitality sector, hospitals and academic institutions.
