High Grade ResultsĀ FromĀ InitialĀ Infill DrillingĀ ofĀ ThickĀ Tungsten ZoneĀ at Barruecopardo
DUBLINĀ &Ā LONDON:Ā 06Ā OctoberĀ 2008Ā -Ā Ormonde Mining plcĀ ("Ormonde" orĀ theĀ "Company")Ā is pleased toĀ reportĀ very encouragingĀ drilling resultsĀ fromĀ itsĀ Barruecopardo Tungsten ProjectĀ inĀ Salamanca,Ā SpainĀ (theĀ "Project").
Highlights
Ā·; The first hole in the Companyās infill drilling programme (BAR-47) has returned an interval of 51 metres grading 0.3% WO3. This intersection has an estimated true thickness of 34 metres and includes a high-grade interval of 10 metres grading 0.7% WO3.
Ā
Kerr Anderson, Managing Director, said:
"We are very pleased with these great drilling results,Ā both in terms of the infill assays and veryĀ encouragingly in starting to provide evidence of aĀ depth extension of the depositĀ below the level of previous drilling. We look forward to reporting further results from the programme as assays are received."

The results ofĀ BAR-47 are therefore in line with expectations and supportĀ the viewĀ that this zone could be amenable to either bulk mining or higher grade selective mining methods.
Drill holesĀ BAR-46 and 46B intersectedĀ the depth continuation ofĀ theĀ tungsten mineralisation,Ā andĀ demonstrate that theĀ BarruecopardoĀ Deposit extendsĀ forĀ at leastĀ 100Ā metres below the level of the currentĀ publishedĀ resource. This is the firstĀ drilling at these depths of the deposit andĀ serves to indicate further depth continuity along this 1.5 kilometreĀ long, steeply-dippingĀ deposit.
Drill holeĀ BAR-46 was abandoned before reaching its target depth due to technical difficulties, and the hole was re-drilled and completed asĀ BAR-46B.
Notes on assay method:
BAR-47 - Assays are reportedĀ using the fusion XRF method.
BAR-46 and 46B -Ā Assays are reported using the ICP lithiumĀ metaborate fusion method. All values greater than 0.1% tungstenĀ areĀ subsequently analysedĀ by theĀ fusionĀ XRF method.

About Tungsten
Tungsten is most frequently used as tungsten monocarbide, which has a hardness close to diamond, in cemented carbides. The principal tungsten applications include its use in cutting steels and in tungsten alloys, electronics, and chemical products.
Prices of tungsten concentrates are expected to remain buoyant for the long term, and are currently quoted by the Metal Bulletin in the range $160-$180 per metric tonne unit. A metric tonne unit is equal to 10kg of WO3, which equates to 1.0% contained WO3Ā in the rock. More information can be found on Ormonde's tungsten information page atĀ http://www.ormondemining.com/about-tungsten/index.html.Ā
About Ormonde
