Exercise of Options
The Board of North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") announces that on 15 March 2010, pursuant to the exercise of options granted under the Company's 1994 Executive Share Option Scheme, 100,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company were issued and allotted to Mr Christopher Mills, the Company's Chief Executive. Mr Mills now holds 2,959,932 ordinary shares, representing 19.83 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital and 210,000 units of Convertible Unsecured Loan Stock representing 5.85% of the units in issue.
Accordingly, application has been made for the 100,000 ordinary shares to be admitted to the Official List and admitted to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and it is expected that admission will take place on Thursday 15 April 2010.
The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the existing shares of the Company. Following this allotment, the total issued share capital of the Company will increase to 14,924,227 ordinary shares. This above figure (14,924,227) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interests in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
