New Solar Installation

The Board of Ultima, the AIM listed IT and Green Technology Company, is pleased to announce that its Green Technology Division has won an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to install a 150kw Solar PV installation from MJ & SC Collins, a local farm in Essex.

The installation will be situated on five farm buildings and will power the various industrial units needed to run the 3,000 acre arable farm, such as crop drying. It is expected to be completed by end of October 2012.

Prof. Humayun Mughal, Chairman and CEO of Ultima, commented, "What is particularly exciting about this new installation is that the farmer is paying for the cost himself for the sake of environment, rather than treating it as a business investment. He is a dedicated environmentalist and is keen to pioneer alternative solutions to meet the energy needs of his business. I am also pleased to say that this order will take Ultima's total PV installed base in the UK to over 1.1MW."

Simon Collins, Managing Director of MJ & SC Collins of Harlow said, "As a farmer and guardian of the local countryside, I am keen to pursue environmentally responsible methods for running my operations and this includes the use of solar energy to replace traditional sources of electricity."
