Max Petroleum PLC28 December 2005 MAX PETROLEUM Plc Institutional Placing Max Petroleum Plc (AIM: MXP), an oil and gas exploration and development companywith an initial focus on Kazakhstan, today announces that it has conditionallyplaced 37,650,000 ordinary shares of 0.01p ("the Placing Shares") at a price of100 pence per share. The proceeds of the Placing will fund an acquisition for an oil and gasexploration asset in Kazakhstan, further details of which will be announced indue course. Application will be made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading onAIM.
