Melrose Resources PLC08 August 2007 Immediate Release 8 August 2007 MELROSE RESOURCES plc Notification of Award under the Melrose Resources plc Performance Share Plan Melrose Resources plc (LSE: MRS) ("the Company") announces that an Award of34,168 in the form of nil-cost options has been granted under the Company'sPerformance Share Plan ("PSP") on 7 August 2007 to an employee of the Company. Notes 1 The Award will vest on 7 August 2010, but only to the extent that certain performance criteria based on the Company's relative and absolute total shareholder return are satisfied over three financial years commencing with the current financial year; 2 No consideration is payable on the grant or vesting of the Award; 3 The decision on the Award was made on 27 June 2007 at the time of other Awards granted under the PSP to Directors and employees; the granting of the Award meets one of the terms agreed with the employee prior to that date in relation to his taking up his position with the Company on 6 August 2007; 4 The Company has 109,972,891 Ordinary Shares in issue; 5 The Company now has a total of 2,466,699 share options outstanding, under all share option plans, representing 2.24% of the issued Ordinary Share Capital; 6 The notification of this Award is intended to satisfy the Company's obligations under Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.4.
