Change of Finance Director

Melrose Resources plc (LSE: MRS) ("Melrose" or the "Company") the oil and gas exploration and development company today announces that Mr Munro Sutherland will step down as the Company's Finance Director on the 31 December 2008 in order to pursue other interests. 

Melrose is pleased to announce that Ms Diane Fraser will be appointed to succeed Mr Sutherland in the position of Finance Director. Ms Fraser qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1985 and has wide accounting and finance experience in industry with Marconi plc and Vickers plc, in the financial sector with County NatWest WoodMac and in the oil industry with Cairn Energy plc, as well as having worked in the public sector. Ms Fraser has been employed by Melrose since 1999 and is currently the Company's Group Financial Controller.

Commenting on this, Robert Adair, Executive Chairman, said: 

"Munro has been Melrose's Finance Director for over ten years and has made a significant contribution to the Company's growth in that time. He leaves the company with our gratitude and we wish him every success in the future. We are pleased to be able to appoint Diane as his successor since she has played an accomplished leading role in the accounting and financing aspects of Melrose's business for many years." 

No further details required under Listing Rule 9.6.13 of the UK Listing Authority remain to be disclosed.
