Melrose Resources PLC02 August 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 August 2006 MELROSE RESOURCES PLC C C A Thomas As previously notified in Melrose's Announcement dated 9 June 2006, MelroseResources plc ("Melrose"), the oil and gas exploration and production companyhaving interests in Egypt, Bulgaria, France and the USA, confirms that MrChristopher Thomas has resigned as Corporate Development Director of Melrosewith effect from 31 July 2006. Mr Thomas has resigned as a director to allow himto devote more time to his other business interests; he is Executive Chairman ofRenova Energy plc, a company which floated on AIM in June 2005. Mr Thomas will continue to be engaged by Melrose in a consulting capacity for aperiod of six months to assist in the ongoing execution of Melrose's strategy inthe USA and in the integration of Merlon Petroleum Company, following itsacquisition by Melrose in recent weeks. He will also remain as CompanySecretary, pending the appointment of a successor.
