Block listing application

Melrose Resources plc ('the Company') announces that it has made a block listing application for 250,000 Ordinary Shares of 10p each in the Company. The block listing relates to the following:

250,000 Ordinary Shares in connection with the Melrose Resources plc Unapproved Share Option Scheme;

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for the shares to be admitted to Listing and it is expected that permission will be granted for admission from 7 January, with dealing commencing on 8 January 2009.
