APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR

The board of M.P.Evans, the producer of sustainable palm oil, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Yuan Zhang as a non-executive director with effect from 1 February 2023.

Yuan Zhang is the Regional Director (Plantations) of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad ("KLK"), Malaysia. He was also the President Director of PT KLK Agriservindo, Indonesia. In this latter capacity, he was responsible for the management of 140,000 hectares of oil-palm plantations across five Indonesian provinces.

Yuan Zhang has also held senior marketing and sales roles within the KLK Group, as well as a number of other senior head office roles at KLK.

In addition, he is a non-executive director of Batu Kawan Berhad ("BKB"), Malaysia. BKB holds a controlling shareholding in KLK and the Lee family, of which Yuan Zhang is a member, holds a controlling interest in BKB. KLK owns a 23% shareholding in M.P. Evans. 

The following information is disclosed pursuant to rule 17 and paragraph (g) of Schedule Two of the AIM Rules for Companies:

In the previous five years, Lee Yuan Zhang, age 36, who does not have a shareholding in M.P. Evans, has been a director, commissioner or partner of the following companies or partnerships (* indicates still a director, commissioner or partner):

There is no further information required to be disclosed under Rule 17 or Schedule Two (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.

Peter Hadsley-Chaplin, executive chairman of the Group, commented:
