Directors' Shareholdings
The Company today announces that, on 9 March 2009, the following directors acquired further ordinary shares of 25 pence each ('Ordinary Shares') in the Company.
(i) Alan Barber, the Executive Chairman of the Company, acquired 570,829 Ordinary Shares of the Company. Following the acquisition of these shares, Mr Barber is beneficially interested in 1,220,829 Ordinary Shares representing 0.37 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company. The shares were transferred by Proudfoot Trustees Limited as Trustee of the Proudfoot Employee Share Ownership Trust, the beneficial owner of 4,094,496 shares in the Company.
(ii) Craig Smith, the Finance Director of the Company, acquired 171,856 Ordinary Shares of the Company. Following the acquisition of these shares, Mr Smith is beneficially interested in 258,664 Ordinary Shares representing 0.08 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company. The shares were transferred by Proudfoot Trustees Limited, as Trustee of the Proudfoot Employee Share Ownership Trust, the beneficial owner of 4,094,496 shares in the Company.
(iii) Luiz Carvalho, an Executive Director of the Company, acquired 624,686 Ordinary Shares of the Company at an average price of 29.879 pence per Ordinary Share. Following the acquisition of these shares, Mr Carvalho is beneficially interested in 832,669 Ordinary Shares representing 0.25 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
Each of the directors above acquired the Ordinary Shares set out against their name as a result of 2008 bonus entitlements.
