McKay Securities PLC31 August 2005 PRESS RELEASE 31st August 2005 McKAY SECURITIES PLC APPOINTMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR McKay Securities PLC is pleased to announce that, with effect from 1st September2005, Mr David Thomas has been appointed to the Board as an independentnon-executive Director, and as a member of the Company's Audit, Remuneration andNomination Committees. Background Information David Thomas (aged 61) was a founder Director of Jarvis Hotels plc in 1990,where, as Deputy Chief Executive, he was instrumental in the growth of theCompany through to a successful listing in 1996, and after the return of capitalto shareholders in 2002, taking the company back into private hands. Prior toJarvis, he was at Ladbroke Group for 13 years including the position of JointManaging Director of Ladbroke Hotels. He is a non-executive Director of W.H.Brakspear and Sons Plc, and Vice Chairman of the Chesham Building Society, andis a qualified Chartered Accountant. Other than the directorships listed abovethere are no further disclosures to be made under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
