Maintel Holdings PLC04 May 2005 Maintel Holdings Plc (the 'Company') Acquisition of own shares The Company announces that, pursuant to its general authority granted byshareholders of the Company on 22 April 2005 to make market purchases of its ownshares, the Company made on market purchases of 102,000 Ordinary Shares at 113.5pence per Ordinary Share on 4 May 2005 (to be held as treasury shares). The Company now holds 172,000 Ordinary Shares in treasury and the total numberof Ordinary Shares in issue less the total number of Ordinary Shares held intreasury following the purchase and non-cancellation of such Ordinary Shares is13,344,800 Ordinary Shares.
